Tardy Policy

Poly Tardy Policy 2017 - 2018

Students are expected to arrive on time, be prepared and ready to learn. Students who are outside of class when the bell rings are considered tardy. Students who arrive tardy are expected to enter class without disruption of the instruction or activity. Students who arrive to school unexcused late after 60 minutes will report to OCS for the remainder of the period. Students who arrive to school late with an excused official note (court, doctor, dentist, etc.) will report to the attendance office for a pass.

For periods 1-2, tardy passes will not be required for the first 10 minutes of class (8:00 a.m.).  Teachers will mark students tardy in Synergy.  After 8:00 a.m., students will report to Tardy Sweep (Jackrabbit gate) for a tardy pass. After receiving a pass, students must go directly to class.  For periods 3-8, tardy students will report to Tardy Sweep (front of 100 building) to receive a pass and may perform campus beautification for 5 minutes. If students do not receive a tardy pass within the first 10 minutes of class, they will report to the ACE office 129 to receive a pass to class and will be assigned a 30 minute lunch detention by campus security. Students who are tardy to class a total of 6 times or more in any given month will be assigned a 4 hour Saturday School session.
