Poly students can be referred by teachers, administrators, parents or themselves. The CARE center also provides group counseling support for anger management, grief and loss, and social skills. The center sees approximately 1500 students annually.

Peer assistance training is a Care center program that provides interested students to learn fundamental counseling skills and techniques which promotes the success of student to student contact and outreach. The class members reflect the racial diversity of Poly's student population, with females making up the majority of the class. Peer counselors are availible every period.
